This is a very good hardcover, no dust jacket. 1947 Books Inc. Publishing, New York. This copy is very well preserved. Pages inside have light natural tanning but are clean, no serious foxing. NOTE: there is a gift inscription "your mom August 1 1947" with personal gift note (see photo) inside first blank page. No other marks or writing seen. The binding is very good, tight and straight. The handsome brown cloth hardcover boards are also very good with only a hint of wear. Most wear/rubbing to boards is along the spine, see photo. Crown octavo size or 5.5" x 8" with 1300 pages.
This volume is complete with plays, poems, sonnets, temple notes and glossary. It is designed to be a nice portable size therefore the text is smaller but clean and in a solid type. Please note; this is NOT a line numbered edition. It is a nice vintage, very good condition edition for any reader. One full color frontispiece of Shakespeare inside.
