This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. Little Brown Publishing Sixth Printing 1982. This copy is very clean inside. Pages are still crisp, clean and free of markings. Binding tight and straight. Blue hardcover boards under jacket are very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The dust jacket is good, it is showing wear mostly along edges and corners. Overall jacket good, still showing some shine but showing shelf wear too. Black and white photo of author on back jacket. Medium Octavo size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 420 pages including index.
When author William Least Heat Moon lost his job at a college in Missouri, he got a Ford van, packed necessities and set out to track various ancestors and write a book about America. The book turned out to be a masterpiece. Mostly, he explored the unsung side of America. Little towns like Nameless, TN. and Cajun country in Louisiana where he drew people into conversations. He had a way of finding people who had not yet found themselves and explored their lives, language and moments in life. (paraphrased from Robert Penn Warren).
The book is a wonderful journey of life.
