She Stoops to Conquer is a comedy play first performed in London, 1773. Initially title Mistakes of a Night, the events take place over one evening. Most notably, the play is the origin of the common English phrase " Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies". Presented in five acts, the play is seen as a comedy of manners. This edition is illustrated by T.M. Cleland with intro by Louis Kronenberger.
