This is a very good hardcover, no dust jacket. 1941 McCahon Printing Lorain Ohio. This copy is very good overall. The pages have just very light natural tanning along edges, but are clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. There is light foxing inside front and back endpapers but pages appear clear of foxing. Maroon cloth hardcover boards with gold lettering are good, clean with only hint of shelf wear BUT there is a bit of spotting to front cover bottom edge. Crown octavo size or 5.5" x 8" with 165 pages.
This book details the "history of the ancient dwellers of the Western Reserve, primarily the Eries, who lived on the southern shores of the Great Lake which bears their name today" - from the intro of the book. Illustrations and black and white photos highlight the well researched text and show burial mounds, ceremonial objects, spears, and more. Each is described and detailed with their use.
