This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. Book of the Month Club Edition, Random House 1968. This copy is clean inside and out. The pages are very clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Gold cloth hardcover boards under dust jacket are very good front and back with only a hint of wear. The dust jacket is good, showing wear including tears at corners and top edge. Black and white of author and photographer on back of jacket as appeared on first edition. Super octavo size or 7" x 11" with 817 pages including index. Illustrated map inside front endpapers and ruler chronology inside back endpapers.
This title explores the authors travels and exploration of Spain during the time leading up to the mid 1960's. During his extensive travels to Spain, Michener experienced the "real" Spain. He reveals the paintings, kings, bullfights, olive orchards and more. Considered one of the best writings on Spain, this title on the legacy and history of Spain endures to this day.
