Pleasant Valley is one of those refreshing and delightful books that show up once in a lifetime. The connections between earth and humans are interwoven as Louis Bromfield writes about farming with elegance and joy. First published in the early 1940's, the message resonates today. Bromfield was an American author and conservationist along with an early proponent of organic agriculture. He is Pulitzer Prize winning author and owned Malabar Farms near Loudonville Ohio, which is now a State Park. He played an important and early role in the environmental movement.
