Published in Paris in 1955, this novel is set in Dublin, Ireland post WWll, 1947. Initially when published, it was banned in Ireland and the United States for obscenity. Initially rejected for publication, it was finally published by Olympic Press. Since then, it has never been out of print. It has now been recognized as a masterpiece and modern classic.
The novel is of the misadventures of Sebastian Dangerfield, an America studying at Trinity College in Dublin. Full of charm, he is on a never-ending quest for women, liquor and he used his wildly comic charm to meets his quests.
