This is a fine (like new) leather-bound hardcover. Franklin Library Signed Limited Edition 1977. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. Bound in gray full leather with gold gilt design and lettering. Gold gilt page edges. Maroon silk moire fabric endpapers. Signed by author on tipped in page w tissue cover. Illustrated maps featured inside front and back. Handsome sewn Smyth binding is tight and straight like new on this copy. Attached silk ribbon bookmark. Hubbed spine highlights and finishes off this fine binding. Inside, the pages are crisp, clean and free of markings. Only hint of wear to binding cover is a mild bump to bottom front corner.
This historical novel by Leon Uris is about the founding of Israel with a retelling of the 1947 immigration ship Exodus. Published in 1958, it became the best selling novel in the U.S. since Gone With The Wind. It has been both praised and criticized for the portrayal of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
