This is a very nice edition with light wear, 1893 Chatham River Press. This copy is very clean inside and out. It has gold tipped page edges, marbled hardcover boards with half black imitation leather and gold lettering. Inside pages are clean with only a hint of tanning. PLEASE NOTE: previous owners embossed stamp on title page (see photo) AND there is some wearing to cover top corners, (see photo). Otherwise it is a nice little copy, showing some wear but nice faux fine binding with the gold page edges and marble-style cover. Price to find a new loving home.
Great Expectations is the 13th novel by Charles Dickens. It is the coming-of-age story of Pip, a young orphan. The novel set in London is full of imagery and colorful characters. Themes include wealth and poverty, love and rejection, and the triumph of good over evil. The novel received universal acclaim and holds its place today as one of the greatest novels.
