for over 200 years no Indian force in America was so powerful and feared as the Iroquois League. But these proud Native Americans occupied territory and a vast wilderness that was a gem to foreign powers. Allan Eckert molded the facts of the League and the American wilderness into a fascinating narrative filled with grace, beauty, violence, and savagery of the American wilderness. This was his second work in his acclaimed The Winning of America series.
