This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1970 Little Brown Publishing. This copy is very clean inside and out. Pages are clean and free of markings or foxing. The binding is tight and straight. Green hardcover boards under jacket have gold design and lettering and are very good with only light shelf wear. The dust jacket is good, light shelf wear but overall good with most wearing at edges/corners. Octavo 6.5" x 9" with 720 pages including index.
This is the third volume of Allan Eckert's acclaimed series, The Winning of America. It continues the narrative of the violent and monumental story of the wresting of North America from the Indians. The locale is the frontiers of Pennsylvania, to Michigan and the now Green Bay Area, especially the critical outposts of Fort Pitt, Fort Detroit, Sandusky, and Mackinac. This is the story of the Pontiac's uprising and the men involved in it; soldiers, civilians, and most importantly, the Indians.
