This is a very good leather-bound hardcover. 1876 James R. Osgood and Company. This copy is in good condition. It is very clean inside. The pages are clean and free of markings. Light natural tanning to pages from age but free of foxing etc. The binding is tight and straight. Handsomely bound in brown leather with embossed design front cover. Hubbed spine and gold lettering accent the fine binding. Marbled endpapers with lovely gold gilt filigree trim along outer edges of endpapers. All three page edges are tipped in gold gilt. The fine sewn binding is tight and straight, pages are still tight to binding which is in exceptional condition. There is some rubbing to leather cover front top edge, (see photo) but otherwise only light rubbing along edges and corners. Crown octavo 5"x8" with 387 pages not including index.
This fine edition of Longfellow's works includes poems, sonnets, tales and more. All three parts from Tales of a Wayside Inn, early poems, translations, ballads along with notes and index. A fine edition in very good condition.
