This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1976 Deutsch, UK Publisher. This copy is very good inside and out. The pages inside are crisp and clean, free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Green cloth hardcover boards under jacket are very good with embossed illustration matching jacket on front cover. The dust jacket is clean and still shiny with only light shelf wear from display. Black and white of author on back of jacket. 8vo octavo size.
Trinity begins towards the end of the 19th century and ends with the Easter Rising in 1916. It concerns the interwoven fortunes of the Larking family, Catholic farmers; the MacLeods, Protestant shipyard workers in Belfast; and the Hubbles, Anglo-Irish land gentry who form a cynical alliance with the Weeds, who are Belfast industrialists. These 3 groups of people form the "Trinity". The many people in this novel, with their loves and hates, hopes and frustrations, divided loyalties, and defeats are fictional. The times they live in are not. Leon Uris accomplished an extraordinary feat; to wed the magic of storytelling with a factual approach to history without diminishing the story or tragedy of the historical events.
