This historical fiction was published in a deluxe and trade edition. This is a trade edition copy, not deluxe. One of the greatest epics of heroic fiction ever written and has been influence and model for scores of tales of swordplay and adventure.

Durandal is the fabled sword of history and legend which somehow found its way into Africa and finally the Near-East, after the death of the warrior-hero Roland, Knight of Charlemagne. This is the first of three volumes which appeared in Adventure more than 50 yrs ago. They are somber and moody tales full of incredible battles and treachery.

This edition contains 6 full-color illustration and intro by Glenn Lord.
