This is a wonderful cookbook full of recipes from colonial America. Originally published in 1742, it was renewed in copyright by The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in 1938 and 1966. The text is true to the original with chapters that include "Paftries &Cheefecakes" "Of Preferving & Pickling" and "Obfervations upon Soups". There are multiple illustrations and 500 of the "moft ancient & approved Recipes in Virginia". The text and spelling add interest and history to this gem that cooks are sure to love.
