Poems of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Revised Edition with illustrations, Houghton Mifflin 1885

This is a rare, antique hardcover. 1885 Houghton Mifflin Publishing. This illustrated edition is good condition given age. **PLEASE NOTE CONDITION DETAILS**. The green hardcover boards are very good with light shelf wear edges and corners. Gold lettering and tooled title with gold gilt page edges all three sides. Back of hardcover boards have some scratching to cloth binding but overall very good for age. Inside the pages are very good with light natural tanning from age. They are clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight BUT several condition notes to disclose; inside front cover the endpapers are wearing and exposing the binding (see photos) and between 222-223 pages there is slight beginnings of separation of page to binding. ADDITIONALLY page 235 has been torn and repaired with standard tape that now has yellowed over time. The text is still legible on said page. Overall, this is a good sturdy copy with acceptable condition caveats given age, priced accordingly.

This edition of Longfellow's poems is illustrated with 32 tissue covered illustrations. All the poems of Longfellow. Inside you will find The Early Poems, By The Fireside, Evangeline, Song of Hiawatha, Songs, Ballads, Tales of a Wayside Inn, Sonnets and all the rest of Longfellow's extensive work. Also laid in is a brochure, The Famous Longfellow Picture by W. L. Taylor, the entire series of 7 pictures reproduced in the brochure, co. 1901.

Please make sure to acknowledge the condition issues, torn page and slight separation between two pages along with the wearing of endpapers in front exposing under binding.
