This is a set of two hardcovers with dust jacket. C.1960's Modern Library. Both hardcovers are very clean inside. Pages have very light natural tanning from age but are clean and free of markings. The bindings are tight and straight on both. Red hardcover boards under jacket are like new. Octavo 8vo
Dust jackets on both are good but showing shelf wear from display. Dust jackets are clean but have wearing at corners and edges.
This two volume set was originally one of a complete set of 6 volumes that was a major undertaking by Modern Library who set out to publish a set of 6 books, complete and unabridged, encompassing the Tragedies, Comedies and History & Poems of Shakespeare. This offering is for the 2 volume set of The Comedies of Shakespeare. The volumes are scrupulously faithful to the highest standards of scholars.
They include notes and glossaries. They were bound for durability in handsome red cloth boards.
