This is a wonderful collectible hardcover in slipcase. 1975 MacMillan Publishing. This copy is near fine, would be considered like new if not for previous owners name neatly marked out inside front cover (see photos). Rest of book and pages are like new, crisp and clean, free of additional markings. The binding is tight and straight. Blue hardcover boards are like new. The slipcase is very good with only a hint of shelf wear from display.
This beloved tale about a seagull trying to learn about life and flight is written in novella form by Richard Back and is illustrated by Russell Munson. Bach originally wrote it as a series of short stories published in the late 1960's. It was published in book form in 1970 and because an instant bestseller. This story about love, conformation, expectation and self-perfection is an enduring tale of and for generations.
