This is a very good vintage hardcover with dust jacket. 1990 Bantam Book in original dust jacket. This copy is crisp and clean inside. Pages crisp, clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Original dust jacket very good, still mostly shiny with only very light shelf wear from display. There is small smudge on side page edges, (see photo) but does not carry over to inside pages. Cream hardcover boards with red trim under jacket are like new.
As beloved as Louis L'Amour is for his novels, he is one of the most widely read and best selling short story fiction writer also. This title was one of his first short fiction hardcover editions with eight vintage stories of the frontier never published before this edition. The stories are full of classic L'Amour badmen and the courage of men and women who dared to challenge them. Each story is preceded by an authors note which conveys in L'Amour's words a relevant piece of western history and lore to enhance the reading experience. Every story is accompanied by full page line drawing dramatizing the narrative. Wonderful addition to any collection !!
