This is a good hardcover with dust jacket. 1967 Book Club Edition Simon & Schuster. This copy is very good inside with a good dust jacket. Octavo 8vo 6"x9". Inside pages have light natural tanning but no serious foxing, and are clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and square. Black hardcover boards under jacket are near fine. The dust jacket is good, there is shelf wear along edges, corners and bottom edge back. Very nice collectible copy with new intro by author.
This book club edition contains a new intro by the author. Fahrenheit 451 is the temperature at which book paper burns. Originally published in 1953, the short novel is set in the (perhaps near) future when "firemen" burn books forbidden by the totalitarian regime. The hero is a book burner who suddenly discovers that books are ideas crying out.
Included in this re-publication are two of Mr Bradbury's finest stories, "And The Rock Cried Out" and "The Playground".
