This is an as new hardcover in with dust jacket in slipcase. 1996 First Edition Library. This copy is like new inside and out. Still crisp, clean and free of markings. This edition is a facsimile of the original First Edition. Issued in facsimile dust jacket and matching slipcase. The issue points from the First Edition are replicated, publishers logo appears on copyright page of the first edition, but was removed in subsequent editions.

Appearing in Oct. 1934, Fer-De-Lance was a hit. Rex Stout was always confident of Nero Wolfe's success and was constantly working on additional novels. He claimed that he always began a Nero Wolfe novel on Oct. 18th and finished it in 38 days. Among the huge fans of Fer-De-Lance were SCOTUS Judge Oliver Wendall Holmes and William Faulkner.
