this is a good hardcover, NO dust jacket, jacket missing. 1934 Garden City Publishing Edition. This copy is good inside and out. There were no markings seen inside and the pages are good and clean with only a hint of natural tanning from age. Illustrated endpapers front and back are good. The binding is tight and straight with minimal wearing. Green hardcover boards are also good, showing light shelf wear mostly corners/edges. with Geoffrey Chaucer embossed front cover bottom edge.
Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 626 pages including intro and publishers note.

The Canterbury Tales is a collection of 24 stories. The tales are written in verse with a few written in prose.
