This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1990 Little Brown Publishing. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Blue hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is still clean and shiny with only very light shelf wear. Super octavo book size or 7" x 11" with 320 pages including index.
David Attenborough's previous TV series were Life On Earth and The Living Planet. This book is the companion to his follow-up series The Trials of Life. It picks up where the first two series left off and examines how animals use their bodies, how they behave and why. Each Chapter in the book, like each program of the television series, looks at different stage in the life of animals. It shows examples of how, from birth to death, all animals have to solve problems to survive. This last volume of the trilogy, like the others, is beautifully photographed and detailed to give readers an inside look on the life of animals.
