This is a very good hardcover. Wise Books 1935. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages only have very light natural tanning from age and are clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Dark blue hardcover boards with illustrated front, title and author, is also very good with only very light shelf wear. There is no foxing seen. Full color illustrated endpapers front and back are bright and very good. Royal octavo size or 6.5" x 10" with 109 pages.
This is a wonderful vintage Childrens book. This is the story of a little boy who moved from the city to the country. The story is about his first summer in the country, where he and Old Dog Sandy became acquainted with the animals of the field and woods. Buddy Jim had never seen animals that were not caged up so this summer was extra special when Buddy Jim and his family moved to a farm in the country. Illustrated by John Rae, the full color illustrations throughout bring the story to life and are quaint, old fashioned and beautifully done.
